Letter to the Editor : Valkyrie ad proves The Daily Orange is subjecting community to sex industry
To the Editors:
Is it the ad from The Valkyrie Club that now appears to be running regularly in The Daily Orange? Or is it the completely disingenuous letter to the editor from the club’s representative? I’m not sure what’s making me feel dirtier.
Oh, no, it was the fact that The D.O. is prostituting itself and Syracuse University to the sex industry. That’s it, I think. Apparently neither The Valkyrie Club’s representative nor the students in charge at The D.O. understand the difference between sexual attraction and anonymous financial transactions for sexual services.
If there was a serious women’s movement on campus, we’d see protestors showing up at Valkyrie with cameras, just to record who shows up. In the meantime, I’ll stop reading and picking up The D.O. until it stops disgracing itself and the university.
