Hopeful doctoral student reaches out to SU for educational funding assistance
I am Zuheir Khlaif from West Bank, Palestine. I graduated from Syracuse University in August 2012. I got my master’s degree in instructional design, development and evaluation with a 3.939 GPA. I worked hard on my courses to get a high GPA; I finished my degree in 11 months.
I gained an admission for a doctoral program in IDD&E for the fall of 2013 at SU. The admission committee asked me to look for financial aid to cover my study. I applied for tuition scholarship in the School of Education, but unfortunately, I will not be offered an assistantship in the first year of my study. This decision frustrated me because when I attended SU previously, I put in my mind that I should work hard on my master’s program to get a scholarship or an assistantship for the doctoral Program in IDD& E. I am eager to get doctorate from SU because of its high reputation in the Middle East area. In addition, I have a good experience in my field and I have a good qualification for the doctorate in IDD& E. Now, I am looking for an assistantship or a scholarship to cover my tuition at SU. My family will help me to cover the rest of the expenses such as living, insurance, etc. I do not have enough resources to cover my study and the life of my kids. What I need is an assistantship or a job to cover tuition at SU. I hope the community at SU will help me in my endeavor to achieve my goals.
Thank You,
Zuheir Khlaif
