Become A Member Of The Daily Orange This October
The arrival of fall means cooler weather, Syracuse football, and the annual Membership Drive at the Daily Orange! This annual tradition is critical to grow our readership and support our amazing students. Last year was a huge success with a record 93 donors who made recurring gifts as D.O. members, and we’re aiming to secure over 100 donors this year! Please consider participating and helping the D.O. remain one of the premier independent student-run newsrooms in the country.
The D.O. students are the heart of our work to deliver news and stories that matter most to the Syracuse University community. Here are some examples of the priority topics already reported since classes began a month ago:
- Our news staff has been monitoring the campus's concerns related to safety and the blue light system, in addition to the changes on Marshall Street.
- The culture section has reported on the volunteers at Thornden Park, the opening of How to Dance in Ohio and Elton John’s performance at the Dome.
- The sports staff has covered SU’s
The D.O. is proudly and fully independent from the University, enabling us to speak to issues without any undue bias or financial influence. This is where philanthropy plays a big part at the D.O. Gifts from our donors have a major impact to pay our students so they can provide excellent independent journalism.
Please join the D.O.'s membership program this year and help us reach our donor goal by October 31! If you make a monthly donation, you'll receive special D.O. swag with graphics designed by our students!
If you have any questions, please contact our Fundraising Coordinator, Mira Berenbaum, at fundraising@dailyorange.com.
Thank you for considering being part of the Daily Orange and making a difference to both our students and to our community!
Thank you for supporting the next generation,
