Through three quarters at Boswell Field, Chris Daddio and Hobart specialist Jake Shapiro had each won 10 of the 20 total faceoffs. But then Daddio got into the a rhythm, winning 5-of-6 draws in the fourth to help the Orange run by the Statesmen 15-9 and reclaim the Kraus-Simmons Trophy after losing it last season.

Just like it did in Syracuse’s dramatic, double-overtime win over No. 6 North Carolina last weekend, the reserve midfield unit of Billy Ward, Nicky Galasso and Derek Maltz played more possessions than the starting unit of Hakeem Lecky, Scott Loy and Henry Schoonmaker against the Statesmen. In the 100th meeting between Hobart and Syracuse, Randy Staats scored five goals and assisted on three while Kevin Rice netted four scores and helped on two. After falling behind 6-2 in the second quarter, the Orange rallied back to reclaim the Kraus-Simmons Trophy.
