Syracuse offense explodes for 13 runs to blow out Niagara

Syracuse (17-22, 1-10 Atlantic Coast) defeated Niagara (1-27) by a score of 13-0 in the second game of a doubleheader at SU Softball Stadium following an 11-0 shutout in the first game. Following a weekend of three frustrating losses to Pittsburgh, the Orange rebounded by scoring enough runs in each game to end the contests early due to mercy rule. Read more »

Pittsburgh thumps Syracuse for 22 runs in game 2 of doubleheader

In the second game of a Saturday doubleheader at SU Softball Stadium, the Orange lost 22-7 to Pitt in a game shortened by the mercy rule, after conceding the first game, 8-6. Freshman AnnaMarie Gatti started game two and pitched two innings before SU went with a different pitcher each inning for the rest of the game. Read more »

Syracuse pounds 2 home runs in 9-1 win over Canisius

Syracuse’s bats came alive Thursday in its 9-1 road victory over Canisius (14-11, 4-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) at Demske Sports Complex in Buffalo, New York. The eight-run differential was SU’s (15-19, 1-7 Atlantic Coast) biggest win since its season-opening 10-1 victory over Illinois-Chicago on Feb. 6. Read more »
